# Blogs

The Blogs section is where you manage every post on your blog feed — announcements, tutorials, case studies, company updates. From here you can see every post at a glance, check how each one is performing, and jump in to write or publish.

## What's on this page

### Posts, Pillars, and Cluster map

- **Posts** is the library described below.
- **Pillars** focuses the library on pillar content and its cluster role.
- **Cluster map** shows pillar/spoke assignments, cluster health, recent views, issues, and live links so you can find orphaned or weakly connected content.

### The blog library

The main view is a table listing every blog post. Each row shows:

- **Title** — The post name, with a colored dot showing its status (Draft, Scheduled, Published, or Archived) and the URL slug (for example, `/blog/launching-v2`).
- **Views** — How many times the post has been viewed.
- **Visitors** — How many unique people viewed it.
- **Views / visitor** — Average pages per visitor.
- **Avg session** — Average time visitors spend reading.
- **Exit rate** — Percentage of visits where this post was the last page before leaving.
- **CTA clicks** — How many times visitors clicked a call-to-action button in the post.

A dash (`—`) means analytics haven't loaded yet or no data has been recorded for that post.

### Toolbar (top of the table)

- **Search** — Type any part of a post title or URL slug to filter.
- **Status filter** — Narrow the list to Draft, Scheduled, Published, Archived, or All states.

The Type filter is hidden here because everything in this section is a blog post.

### Row actions

Hover over any row to see the action icons on the right:

- **View** (eye icon) — Open the post in a new tab as visitors see it.
- **Copy preview link** (copy icon) — Mints a shareable link so a teammate can review the draft without logging in. Only available for unpublished drafts.
- **Analytics** (chart icon) — Opens deeper analytics for this single post (views over time, traffic sources, scroll depth, click heatmap, SEO health). See [Blog Post Analytics](blog-post-analytics.md).
- **Edit** (pencil icon) — Opens the post in the editor. See [Add / Edit Blog Post](add-edit-blog-post.md).
- **Delete** (trash icon) — Permanently removes the post. You'll be asked to confirm.

### Header buttons

At the top of the section:

- **New Blog Post** — Starts a blank blog post in the editor.
- **Upload blogs** — Imports Markdown files (or a zip archive) as drafts. Frontmatter can set `blogRole` and `topicCluster`; cluster spokes should identify their pillar and include a contextual link to it. Missing general fields are inferred from the filename and body when safe.

## Common things you can do here

### Find a specific post

Type into the **Search** box. It matches against the title and the URL slug.

### See your best-performing posts

Click any column header to sort. **Views** and **Visitors** highlight your most-read posts; **Avg session** flags the ones people actually finish; **CTA clicks** shows which posts drive action.

### Write a new post

Click **New Blog Post** in the top right. You'll go straight into the editor with an empty draft. See [Add / Edit Blog Post](add-edit-blog-post.md) for the full editor walkthrough.

### Share a draft for review

Open a draft, click **Copy preview link** in the row, and send it to a teammate. They'll see the unpublished post in their browser without needing admin access.

### Dig into one post's analytics

Click the chart icon on the row. You'll see view trends, scroll depth, click heatmaps, top search queries, and on-page SEO checks — all for that single post.

## Tips

- **Status dots are color-coded.** Hover any dot to see the label (Draft / Scheduled / Published / Archived).
- **Scheduled posts show their publish date** beneath the title.
- **Numbers reflect the current site-wide analytics window.** To dig deeper or change the window for a single post, open that post's Analytics view.
- **Sort by published date** by clicking the Title column header (it sorts by most recent updates).
- **Permissions matter.** If you don't have edit permission, the **Edit** and **Delete** buttons are disabled and the **New Blog Post** button is disabled. Ask an admin for the right access.

## Troubleshooting

- **Analytics columns are blank?** That's normal for a brand-new post, or right after publishing. Numbers fill in once visitors read the post and analytics finish processing.
- **Preview link doesn't work?** Preview links are tied to the draft revision. If you published or deleted the draft after sharing, the link expires. Generate a new one and reshare.
- **Can't find a post you know exists?** Check the **Status** filter — it might be Archived. Set it to **All states** to see everything.
- **Empty table?** With no posts yet, you'll see *No blog posts have been created yet.* If a search or status filter is hiding everything, it reads *No matching blog posts yet.* — clear the filters or create a post to fill the list.
- **Looking for blog categories or feed settings?** Those live in the **Appearance** section under blog structure, not here.
