# Person Detail

The person detail page is the full picture of one visitor, lead, or customer. It pulls together their site activity, emails and chats, campaign history, forms and bookings, purchases, and your team's notes — all in one place. Use it to understand who someone is, how engaged they are, and what to do next.

## How to get here

From the [People](people.md) overview, click any row in the table. Click **Back to people** at the top left to return.

The page listens for CRM data events and refreshes when activity changes; it does not poll every few seconds.

## What's on this page

### Header

At the top:

- **Name** — The person's primary identity: their name, email, phone, or login ID, whichever is on file. Anonymous visitors show their visitor ID.
- **Avatar** — A colored circle next to the name.
- **Stage** — A dropdown showing where this person sits in your funnel: **Visitor**, **Lead**, **Customer**, or **Archived**. Change it any time (see below).
- **Owner** — A dropdown showing who on your team is responsible for this person, or **Unassigned**.

### Hero

A summary panel just below the header.

For an identified person, it lists **Email**, **Phone**, **Login ID** (when present), and an **Engagement score** for highly engaged profiles. For an anonymous visitor, this is replaced with a note explaining the profile will fill in once they submit a form, sign in, or contact you.

A grid of stat tiles shows: **Visits**, **Page views**, **Total time on site**, **Avg time / visit**, **Avg views / visit**, **Contacts** (forms plus chats), and **Last active**. If they are browsing right now, **Last active** shows a live "Active now" indicator with how long they've been on the current page.

Below the tiles, a short history: **First seen** (the first page and where they came from, or "Direct"), **Most viewed** (their most-visited page, when they have more than one view), and **Currently viewing** or **Last page**.

Use the profile quick actions to **Send email** or **Add note**. Configured custom fields appear with the profile data and follow the table/header visibility chosen in Appearance → CRM.

When Cedros detects shared visitor or device signals, review them before choosing **Merge** or **Not same**. Merge is irreversible and combines the records; Not same dismisses the proposed relationship.

### Tags

A card listing the tags applied to this person, newest first. Each tag is a colored chip; tags managed by an extension show an **ext** badge and can't be removed by hand. Use the **Add a tag** dropdown and **Apply tag** button to attach a tag, or the **×** on a chip to remove one.

### Activity tabs

A card with five tabs across the top (**Activity**, **Conversations**, **Campaigns**, **Records**, **Notes**). Each tab, and the subtabs inside some of them, is described below.

- **Activity** — A timeline of what this person has done on your site, grouped by day. Filter buttons (**All**, **Site**, **Blogs**, **Docs**, **Booking**, **Links**) narrow it down, and each filter shows a count. Live entries show an "Active now" badge.
- **Conversations** — Two subtabs: **Emails** (personal back-and-forth from the [Inbox](email-inbox.md), with **Direction**, **Email** — the subject line — **Status**, **Source**, and **When**) and **Chats** (support conversations, with name, status, priority, route, and last-message date).
- **Campaigns** — Two subtabs: **Campaigns** (marketing email blasts sent to this person) and **Lists** (the email lists they belong to, with list status, source, and updated date).
- **Records** — Four subtabs: **Forms** (form submissions — click a form name to open the submission), **Bookings** (scheduled appointments), **Contracts** (signed agreements), and **Purchases** (Cedros Pay sales, shown only if the extension is installed).
- **Notes** — Plain-text notes your team has written about this person. Includes an **Add note** button and, once notes exist, a type filter and a **Search notes…** box.

## Common things you can do here

### Change someone's stage

Pick a new value from the **Stage** dropdown in the header — **Visitor**, **Lead**, **Customer**, or **Archived**. Each option has a short description of what it means. The change saves immediately and a "Stage updated." message confirms it.

### Assign or reassign an owner

Pick a teammate (or **Unassigned**) from the **Owner** dropdown in the header. It saves right away and confirms with "Owner updated."

### Add or remove a tag

1. Open the **Add a tag** dropdown in the Tags card and choose a tag.
2. Click **Apply tag**. A "Tag added." message confirms it, and the tag drops out of the dropdown.

To remove a tag, click the **×** on its chip. A "Tag removed." message confirms it. Tags with an **ext** badge are managed by an extension and can't be removed by hand.

### Add a note

1. In the **Notes** tab, click **Add note**.
2. Choose a **Type**: **General note** (free-form context), **Phone call** (what was discussed and next steps), or **Meeting** (outcome of a sync, call, or visit).
3. Type into the **Note** box ("What changed about this person?").
4. Click **Save note**, or **Cancel** to discard.

A "Note saved." message confirms it. Once you have several notes, use the type filter and **Search notes…** box to find one — search looks through the note text and the author.

### Archive a person

Archiving happens from the **Delete** icon on a row in the [People](people.md) overview. It opens an **Archive this person?** dialog. Click **Archive person** to confirm. This moves them to the **Archived** stage but keeps all their history — you can bring them back any time by changing their **Stage**.

## Tips

- **"Active now" means within the last 5 minutes.** When someone is on a page right now, the header and the activity timeline show a live indicator with how long they've been on that page.
- **Archiving is not deleting.** "Archive person" sets the stage to **Archived**; their activity and history stay on file, and switching the stage back restores them to an active stage.
- **Tags are sorted newest first.** The most recently added tag appears at the top of the card.
- **The activity timeline skips technical noise.** Performance and error events are hidden, and repeated identical actions are collapsed into one line with a count.
- **Purchases need Cedros Pay.** If the extension isn't installed, the **Purchases** subtab shows a prompt to install it instead of purchase history.

## Troubleshooting

- **The Stage, Owner, tag, and note controls are greyed out, and the header says "Missing data:crm:write permission."** You have read-only access. Ask an administrator for the `data:crm:write` permission to make changes.
- **The header shows a visitor ID instead of a name.** This profile is an anonymous visitor — no name, email, phone, or login has been captured yet. It fills in automatically when they submit a form, sign in, or contact you.
- **A tag won't go away when I click ×.** Tags with an **ext** badge are managed by an extension and can't be removed here. Other tags only remove if you have write permission.
- **The Purchases subtab shows "Cedros Pay isn't installed yet."** Install the Cedros Pay extension to see purchase history, subscriptions, and tips for this person.
- **A tab is empty.** That just means there's nothing of that type yet — for example, "No emails yet" or "No bookings yet." The activity will appear here as it happens.
- **My note search returns "No matching notes."** Clear the **Search notes…** box or switch the type filter back to **All types** to see every note again.
