Update the name and picture on your account, maintain the email addresses you use to sign in, and review or change your connected sign-in methods.
Use the Manage your account page to update your profile and connected sign-in methods. It changes your personal account on that site. To change your website's business name, logo, or public contact email, use Setting up your business information instead.
Open the right account settings
Open the profile page on the site where your account exists, normally /profile. For your cedros.ai account, open Manage your account. If you see Log in to manage account, sign in and return to the profile page.
Check the displayed account before making changes. Signing in to another Cedros-powered site or using another provider account may open a different account.
The account page separates these tasks:
- Profile: display name, username, and profile picture.
- Emails: add and verify email addresses, choose a primary address, and remove an old address.
- Security: set or change your password, manage MFA, and review active sessions.
- Connected accounts: see the methods connected to your account and use any available linking or removal controls.
Some sites use a separate built-in administrator login. If your admin account does not lead to this page, follow that site's account controls or ask the site owner which account system you use.
Before changing sign-in details, keep your current session open and make sure you can use at least one existing sign-in method. Have your authenticator or recovery codes available if MFA is enabled.
Update your display name or username
Display name
- Choose Profile.
- Select Edit beside Display name.
- Enter the name you want to show on your account. The field cannot be empty; keep it within the limit shown by the form.
- Select Save and wait for the field to return to its normal display.
Use Cancel to discard an unsaved edit. Changes to these text fields are saved individually; typing alone does not save them.
Check the result: reload the profile page after saving and confirm that your new name remains. Changing your name does not change your email address, password, team role, or site ownership.
Username
Select Edit beside Username and enter a username that follows these rules:
- Use 3–30 characters.
- Use lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only.
- Do not start or end with an underscore.
- Choose a name that is not already taken or reserved.
For example, alex_chen follows the format rules, although availability still needs to be checked. Enter the username without the displayed @ prefix.
Wait for the availability check, then select Save. Available means the name passed that check; the change is complete only after saving succeeds. If it becomes unavailable before you save, choose another name.
Reload the page and check the saved username. Continue using the sign-in method offered by your site's login page; a username change is not an email-address change.
Upload or remove a profile picture
In Profile, find Profile picture and select Upload. Choose a JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP image.
Selecting a file starts the upload immediately. There is no separate Save button for the picture. Wait for Saving… to finish, check the displayed image, and reload the page to confirm it was saved.
Picture uploads must be enabled by the site. If an upload is rejected, read the error before trying another file. For an invalid or oversized-image error, use a valid image with smaller dimensions in one of the supported formats.
To remove the picture, select Remove beside Profile picture and wait for the result. This action also saves immediately. It affects your account picture, not the website logo.
Add and verify an email address
Use Emails to add another address to your existing account. This does not create a mailbox or connect an inbox, and it does not grant Cedros access to your email messages.
You need access to the new address's inbox to verify it.
- Open Emails and enter the address in Email address.
- Check the spelling, then select Add email.
- Look for the verification-sent message and the new address in the list. Pending means verification is not complete.
- Open the verification message in that address's inbox and follow its link.
- Return to Emails and reload the page if necessary. Confirm that the address now shows Verified.
A sent-message confirmation alone does not mean the address is verified. A pending address is not ready to use as a verified sign-in address.
If the message does not arrive, check spam, junk, and any work-email quarantine. Use Resend beside the pending address after checking that it is correct. If you entered the wrong address, remove that pending entry and add the correct one.
Adding an email is different from linking Google or Apple. Verifying a Gmail or Apple email address does not automatically connect that provider's sign-in button. Likewise, an added email does not create a password for an account that has none.
Change your primary email or remove an old address
Choose a new primary address
Add and verify the new email first. Then, in Emails, select Make primary beside the verified address you want to use.
Wait for the confirmation and check that Primary appears beside the intended address. The action is available for verified addresses that are not already primary.
Changing the primary address updates the primary email on this account and signs out its other sessions. Your current session is retained. Be ready to sign in again on other devices.
The previous address remains listed unless you remove it. Review the list after the change rather than assuming the old address has been deleted. This change does not rename your external mailbox or update your website's public contact details.
Remove an address
- Confirm that you can still sign in to this account using an address or method you intend to keep.
- In Emails, select Remove beside the address you no longer want.
- Review the address in the confirmation dialog, then select Remove.
- Check that the address disappears from the list.
The primary email cannot be removed. Make another verified address primary first.
Removing an email means it can no longer be used as an email sign-in address for this account, and other sessions are signed out. Removing a listed address is separate from disconnecting a Google or Apple credential under Connected accounts.
Set or change your password
Use Security for password changes. The available action depends on whether this account already has a password.
If you see Set a password: first make sure Emails contains a verified address you can use. Select Set a password, enter New password and Confirm password, and select Set password. Follow the password requirements shown by the form.
If you see Change password: select it, enter Current password, New password, and Confirm new password, then select Change password. If you do not know the current password, use Resetting your password and recovering access.
Wait for the successful result before updating your password manager. Setting or changing a password signs out other sessions. It does not remove MFA or disconnect your other linked sign-in methods.
Keep the current window open and confirm the new password works in a separate private window on the same site. Complete any MFA challenge and check that you reach the expected account.
Review and connect sign-in methods
Open Connected accounts to see the methods currently associated with your account. Depending on your account, the list can include Email & Password, Google, Apple, Solana Wallet, Passkey, or Single Sign-On.
Review the method names and any added or last-used information. Having an email address in Emails and having a provider listed here are different things.
Connect an available method
Use Link a new sign-in method only while signed in to the account you want to keep.
If your site provides a Google, Apple, or Solana linking button, select it and complete the provider or wallet prompts using the account you intend to connect. Return to Cedros and confirm the new method appears in Connected accounts.
If no linking button appears, ask the site administrator whether that method can be added to your account. A Google or Apple button on the sign-in page does not link that method to your existing account.
For the Passkey option, follow Securing your account with MFA or a passkey. That guide covers registration, device prompts, and the separate MFA settings.
Before relying on any newly linked method, test it in a separate private window on the same site while keeping your current session open. Confirm that it opens the same account with the access you expect. Do not create another account as a substitute for linking one.
Disconnect a method
First test another sign-in method for this account. Then select Remove beside the unwanted method, review the named method in the dialog, and confirm Remove.
Wait for the method to disappear. Cedros prevents removal of your last login method. If you see that error, add and test another supported method first. A recovery code or an MFA authenticator is not a replacement for the initial sign-in method.
Removing a credential signs out other sessions and stops that credential from signing in to this account. It does not delete the external Google or Apple account, wallet, or password-manager entry.
If an authenticator row says Manage in MFA settings, use Security and the MFA guide. It cannot be removed through the ordinary credential-removal flow.
Troubleshooting
Your changes disappear or a save fails
Wait for the operation to finish and read any error before leaving. Use Save for the name and username; picture uploads and email actions apply through their own controls.
Reload only after an operation has finished, then check the saved value. If the value is still old, note the exact error and retry once after checking your connection.
An email is already in use
Check whether it is already listed on this account, including as Pending. An address associated with another account cannot simply be added again. If the other account is yours, recover access to it or ask the site administrator for help.
Do not delete an account or remove your only working method to resolve an email conflict. Adding an address does not merge two accounts or combine their memberships.
A change requires you to sign in again
Adding or removing an email, changing the primary email, setting a password, or removing a credential can require recent authentication.
Confirm that your existing sign-in method and any MFA factor are available before signing out of your only working session. Sign in again to the same account, then retry the change. If you cannot do that safely, leave the working session open and use the recovery guide.
A connected method opens the wrong account
Check the site address and the account selected in the provider or password-manager prompt. Return to your original signed-in window and review Connected accounts there.
Do not remove the original working method until the replacement reaches the correct account. If the account is correct but access is missing, ask the site owner to check your role or membership; editing a profile does not grant additional permissions.
For unresolved problems, follow Getting help and reporting a problem. Include the site address, the control you used, and the error text. Do not include passwords, verification links, authenticator codes, recovery codes, or wallet recovery phrases.
