Use Grow → Focus → To-dos to capture actions you want to remember before deciding when to work on them. The Unscheduled to-dos list keeps these actions together under Anytime.
For example, you might capture “Compare packaging samples” while working on something else, then return to it when you plan your week. You can also complete an action directly from this list without putting it into a daily plan first.
Capture an action
- Open Grow → Focus and select To-dos.
- In Add a task…, enter a specific action, such as “Ask the printer for a sample pack.”
- Select Add or press Enter. Your action appears in the Anytime list.
- Add any other actions you want to capture, one at a time.
- Check the save indicator in the Focus header. Wait for Saved just now before closing the page.
This is your personal Focus list for the site. A teammate signed in with their own account has their own list. You can start using it even if the site's shared goals have not been set up.
Keep titles concrete enough to make sense later. “Update delivery estimate on the product page” is easier to pick up than “Delivery.” If the work needs several steps, capture the next action now and develop an outcome when you plan it.
Focus requires content access. If the section is missing or you cannot edit the list, see feature access.
Rename or remove a to-do
Select a to-do's title to edit it. Press Enter or click outside the field to keep the change. Press Escape to cancel the rename.
An empty title does not remove an existing to-do; the previous title returns. A blank new entry also does not create an item.
To remove work you no longer need, use the row's × delete control. It appears when you hover over or focus the row and is labelled with the action's title for assistive technology. The Task deleted message offers Undo to restore the removed item. Use Undo while that message is available if you deleted the wrong one.
Delete actions you are dropping. Check them off only when the work is finished, so your completed list remains useful.
Complete or reopen an action
Select the checkbox beside an action when it is done. It leaves the open list and appears in the expandable completed group below. The count beside Anytime shows completed items out of the total, and the progress bar follows that count.
Expand the completed group to review its items. If you checked something by mistake or still have work to do, clear its checkbox. The action returns to the open list.
Renaming, completing, reopening, deleting, and restoring an item all save automatically. Check the header after your changes; there is no separate Save button for the list.
Checking off an action records your progress. It does not perform the action itself, send a message, or publish anything mentioned in its title.
Put a captured action into your plan
When you are ready to work on an unscheduled action, add it to the appropriate list on Goals:
- Copy the action's title from To-dos.
- Select Goals and find Active Work.
- Add the action under Today, This Week, or This Month, using Add or Enter.
- Check that the new entry appears in the intended list and wait for Saved just now.
- Return to To-dos and delete the unscheduled copy if you no longer need it there. Check the save indicator again.
This creates a new entry; the two copies are independent. Completing or renaming one does not update the other. The To-dos tab has no direct Move control, so confirm the planned entry is saved before removing the original. Leave the original unchecked when removing it if the work is still unfinished.
For work with several steps, create an outcome in the chosen horizon and add the actions under it. Planning your day, week, and month with Focus explains outcomes, supporting to-dos, and reviewing your plan.
Keep the list useful
Review your unscheduled actions when you plan the day or week. Complete anything you have finished, remove anything you have decided against, and put your next priorities into the appropriate plan.
Unscheduled actions stay in Anytime when a new day, week, or month begins. They do not automatically move into Today or acquire a due date.
Completed unscheduled actions remain available for recent review, including in History from the Focus header. Individual completion history is kept for 180 days, so use another suitable record for information you need to retain longer. Reopening an action removes it from completed work until you finish it again.
Resolve saving or missing-item problems
A new action did not appear. Make sure the title contains text, then select Add or press Enter. If the action appears but the header still shows Saving… or Unsaved changes, keep the page open until saving finishes.
A save failed. Read the error and select Retry save. Preserve important unsaved titles before reloading the page.
Focus changed in another tab. Review the conflict before choosing a version. Use latest replaces your current draft with the latest version that was loaded and discards your local unsaved changes. Keep mine keeps your current version and tries to save it. Avoid making competing edits in multiple tabs while resolving the conflict.
An action seems to be missing. Check the completed group, then check Today, This Week, and This Month if you previously added it to a plan. Also confirm you are signed in to the intended account and site. If Focus reports a load error, use Retry personal Focus before treating the list as empty.
