Scheduling and distributing approved content

Place social content on Calendar, prepare blog and email drafts for release, and check what was actually scheduled, posted, or sent.

Use Grow → Content to move reviewed work into the workspace where it will be delivered. Social outputs can become Calendar placements; blog and email outputs can become drafts in Blogs and Email Campaigns.

These are separate outcomes. A planned date helps organize work. A Calendar placement reserves a time for a social post. A blog or email draft still needs its destination's publication or sending steps. Check the resulting record before treating any of them as delivered.

Prepare the output and its destination

Open the content item and review the exact output you intend to use. Save edits with Save output and, for social variants, Save variant. Confirm current approval of the output and the selected variant. Approving only the brief is not enough for social scheduling; see Reviewing and approving content.

Check the destination, copy, links, media, and intended audience together. For social content, choose the correct platform and publishing account. For an email, know which audience and sender you will use when completing the campaign. For a blog, identify the public page and any images or metadata it needs.

Social scheduling also requires evidence or a reviewed manual source. In Brief → Evidence → Attach evidence snapshot, record the relevant Saved source ID, Source kind, Origin reference, and Evidence excerpt, choose the Review policy, then select Attach evidence. Use a real source you have checked. If its policy is Owner before scheduling, the content owner must approve the exact output revision.

Attach required media and check that the assets remain available. Review the usage rights and whether the selected file suits the intended platform. An approval of the words does not establish that the media is ready to use.

For a social output whose Link intent is Link-bearing, use Distribution & links to attach an exact tracked destination. Select the Link-bearing output, enter the existing Managed link ID, select Preview tracked variant, review the destination, then Create and bind. Ask the person managing your links for the correct ID if needed. A link-bearing label or a pasted URL alone does not satisfy this scheduling requirement. Open the final link and confirm where it leads.

These actions require the appropriate access. Scheduling needs Calendar management and permission to edit the content; creating a blog or email draft also needs the destination's creation permission. Tracked-link creation requires link-editing access. See feature access if a control is unavailable.

Preview and commit a social Calendar placement

The item's Schedule tab is for social outputs. It does not schedule a blog, email, or standalone video output.

  1. Open Schedule and choose the Deliverable you want to place.
  2. Choose its Account variant. If the output has variants, select the particular platform/account version; Primary output is for an output without variants.
  3. Set a future Placement time. Check the timezone label, your device's timezone, and the time shown in the preview. If they disagree, resolve the difference before committing.
  4. Select Preview placement. Read the proposed title and time, blocking reasons, warnings, and nearby placements.
  5. Resolve blockers and preview again. When the result is ready and the details are correct, select Commit to Calendar.
  6. Wait for the confirmation, then open the Calendar record and check its actual time, platform, account, copy, and media.

Previewing does not create the placement. Changing the selected output, variant, or time clears the preview, so review the updated proposal before committing.

Nearby-placement warnings help you avoid crowding the same account or publishing voice. They are not a check of every external calendar or social account. “No same-channel placement within one hour” does not mean every destination is free of conflicts.

After confirmation, Calendar manages the placement and its posting details. The corresponding Content copy is a read-only snapshot; use the Calendar record when you need to change the publishable post. Keep the Content brief for coordinating the wider idea and its other outputs.

Complete the social post and record what happened

A Calendar placement does not automatically publish the post to a social network. The supported posting workflow gives you a Manual posting packet for the selected platform.

Open the Calendar item and check the Posting account and packet details. Where available, use Copy packet, open or download the media, and select Open platform. Confirm that you are signed into the correct account, then finish the post in that platform's own interface.

Check the published result on the platform itself: the copy, media, account, links, and visibility should match what you intended. Record the live URL and posting details through Calendar's posting workflow. In a posting session, Mark posted records the result after you have posted; it does not submit the post to the network for you.

If posting fails or requires more work, leave that outcome clear for the next person. Do not mark a post complete just because its scheduled time passed, its text was copied, or the platform opened.

Review reminders separately in Calendar if you want a prompt to post. A scheduled time and a reminder are different settings.

Create a blog or email draft for final preparation

Blog and email handoffs are under Deliverables, within the relevant output's Native handoff controls. They are not created by the Schedule tab.

  1. Open the blog or email output in Deliverables and save its title and draft body.
  2. Select Preview native draft in Native handoff.
  3. Inspect the proposed destination, title or subject, body, draft status, warnings, and blocking reasons.
  4. When the proposal is correct, select Create native draft.
  5. Use Open native draft and finish the destination-specific preparation before publishing or sending.

The handoff requires a title and draft content. An unapproved revision produces a warning and can still be handed off as a draft. That is an opportunity to continue preparing it in the destination, not approval to release it. Even an approved output creates a draft here; nothing is automatically published or sent.

For a blog, review the generated address, formatting, excerpt, images, SEO fields, and public preview in Site → Blogs. The handoff does not fill in all of those details for you. Follow Scheduling and updating blog posts for the release steps and live-page checks.

For an email, review the campaign subject and body, then configure its sender, audience, provider, design, and other sending requirements in Email → Campaigns. The new campaign has no send time or selected recipient audience. Use Sending your first email campaign to complete preparation and testing before you schedule or send.

After the handoff, edit and review the publishable copy in its destination. Changing the Content brief does not rewrite the linked blog or campaign. Reopen the existing linked draft when continuing work instead of creating another draft manually.

If you already have the intended destination draft, Link an existing blog draft or Link an existing email campaign draft lets you enter its Native ID and choose Link existing. Verify the record carefully before linking it. Linking an existing draft does not establish where its earlier content came from or certify that it was approved.

Change timing or stop upcoming delivery

For a social placement, open Calendar to manage its time, reminders, and posting details. Verify the saved record after a change, especially if another teammate is working on it.

To remove an upcoming placement from Content, open Schedule → Committed placements and select Unschedule for the correct record. Check the success message and Calendar afterward. This removes the Calendar placement while preserving the content item and its review history.

Unscheduling is not a way to remove a post already published on a social network. Preserve posting proof and manage the live post on its platform. If Cedros reports that a posted record cannot be unscheduled, manage that record in Calendar rather than trying to erase its history.

For a blog, manage its scheduled publication in Blogs. For an email, use the campaign's scheduling or cancellation controls; see Scheduling or canceling a campaign. Archiving the Content item does not cancel an existing destination's delivery.

Resolve blockers without creating duplicate work

The Schedule tab asks for a social deliverable. Add and prepare a social output first. Blog and email drafts use Native handoff; a Video output has no equivalent direct publication handoff in these controls.

The preview says approval is missing. Check the selected output and variant separately. Save outstanding edits and obtain approval of their current revisions. If the evidence requires owner review, approval from a different reviewer may not satisfy that requirement.

Evidence or media is missing or out of date. Review the cited source, attach the correct evidence or asset, and resolve the stated problem. Do not weaken the review policy just to clear a blocker. Recheck approvals after changes.

The tracked destination is missing. Check the exact output's active link binding in Distribution & links. Verify the destination and final copy; the workspace does not silently substitute an untracked link.

The preview reports duplicate content or a conflict. Inspect the existing Calendar item before adding another. Some warnings ask for a timing decision; duplicate story or source checks can block the placement. Resolve the named issue and preview again.

Confirmation fails or the result is unclear. Reopen the item and check Committed placements or the existing destination draft before retrying. A later refresh can fail after creation succeeded. Avoid creating a second manual record while the first result is uncertain.

A destination record is read-only in Content. Follow its Open … link to the workspace that now owns it. Review the actual saved record there before scheduling or releasing further changes.

Finish by checking the outcome appropriate to the channel: a Calendar placement awaiting manual posting, a verified live social post with proof, a published blog page, or the email campaign's sending and delivery results. None of these outcomes can be inferred from the Content item's approval label alone.
