Setting up contracts for your business

Connect storage, save your sender details, and prepare to send your first contract.

Use Contracts to prepare reusable agreements, request signatures, and keep track of each request. Start by connecting storage and saving your sender details, then prepare your first template.

Before you begin

Have these ready:

  • Access to manage contracts. You need permission to create templates, save sender details, and send requests. If Contracts is missing or read-only, ask your site administrator to check your access. See Why can’t I see or edit a feature?.
  • Connected file storage. Contracts needs an object storage bucket to store documents. Your site administrator can connect it if this has not already been done.
  • The name you will sign with. Use the legal name of the person sending and signing for the business.
  • An agreement to prepare. You can start from a ready-made contract, upload your own PDF, or write a blank draft.

Open Contracts and check storage

Open Grow → Contracts in your admin area.

If you see Contracts are blocked, select Open storage settings. Connect the storage account and bucket, or ask your administrator to complete that setup. Return to Contracts after the connection is ready.

When setup is available, you will see the Contracts overview with Configure and Send contract actions. Connecting storage makes the workspace available; you still need sender details and a prepared template before sending.

Save your sender details

  1. From the Contracts overview, select Configure.
  2. Under Sender details, enter your Legal name. If your account name is already filled in, check it before saving.
  3. Check the Signs as and initials preview. Cedros fills these from your legal name.
  4. To use different values, expand Signature and initials and enter them.
  5. Select Save sender details. Check that the saved name, signature, and initials appear, then select Back to contracts.

These details are saved for your signed-in account. Each teammate who sends contracts should configure their own sender details. A business name in your site settings does not replace this step.

To change your saved details later, return to Configure, select Edit, and save the corrected values before your next send.

Prepare your first template

A template is the agreement you can reuse. A request is a particular copy sent to named signers. For example, one service agreement template can be used for separate requests to several clients.

Choose Add contract template to start a template, then select its source:

  • Ready-made contract: choose a starting point from the library and edit the copy for your business.
  • Your own PDF: upload the agreement you want people to sign, then place the signing fields on it.
  • Blank draft: give the template a name and write the agreement in Cedros.

Review the wording, define the signer roles, and add the fields each person must complete. Check the document and delivery settings before marking the template Ready. A template needs a document and signing fields before it can appear as an available choice in Send contract.

Choose how signers receive the request

On Send contract, choose the prepared template and enter a name and email address for each signer role.

Under Options, check Email each signer a signing link. With this enabled, Cedros sends the invitations by email. Your site needs working outgoing email delivery; see Setting up outgoing email delivery.

If you turn email delivery off, copy each signing link from the confirmation screen and share it privately with the intended signer. The links are shown only once. Signer email addresses are still required.

Select Send contract only when the agreement, recipients, and delivery choice are correct. Use View requests afterward to track the request and check who still needs to sign.

If you cannot continue

  • Storage setup appears instead of your contracts: use Open storage settings and check the connection with your administrator.
  • You cannot save or send: check your contract permissions and complete your sender details.
  • Your template is missing from Send contract: finish its document and signing fields, then mark it Ready. Draft and archived templates are not available for sending.
  • A request was created but the email did not arrive: check the existing request and outgoing email delivery before sending a second request.

If you still need help, include the template or request name, the action you were trying to complete, and the exact error. See Getting help and reporting a problem.
