Downloading completed contracts

Download completed contract PDFs and the audit trail, save copies, and get fresh links when a download expires.

Download the signed PDFs and audit trail once everyone has finished signing. Save the files with your records; the download links expire.

Download from Contracts

  1. Open Grow → Contracts and go to Sent contracts.
  2. Select Complete. Choose a contract type if you need to narrow the list.
  3. Find the request and select its row to open that contract type's Requests list. Locate the same request there, checking its name before continuing.
  4. Open the request's actions menu and select Download signed documents.
  5. Wait for Preparing documents… to finish, then select each filename to download it.
  6. Open the saved files to check them, then select Close when you are finished.

If the request is missing, check All types, the other pages in the list, and its current status. See Tracking signatures and reminding signers if someone still needs to sign.

Keep the completed PDFs and audit trail

The download list contains:

  • Completed PDFs: the contract documents with the signers' completed fields. A request with multiple documents has a separate completed PDF for each document.
  • An audit trail PDF: a record of the request's events and their times. Its filename ends in -audit-trail.pdf.

Download each file you need. Check that the PDFs open, the agreement is the one you expected, and the completed fields are readable. Keep the audit trail alongside the agreement.

Files uploaded by signers into attachment fields are not separate downloads in this list. If you need those supporting files, contact the sender or your administrator.

Download as a signer

  1. Return to your signing page using the latest invitation for that request.
  2. On the completion screen, select Download completed documents.
  3. Wait for Secure download links created., then select each filename and save the files.

Finishing your own step does not always mean the whole request is complete. If other people still need to sign, the completed documents are not available yet. Wait for everyone to finish, then try again.

Some agreements take you to another page after signing. If you cannot reach the completion screen, or your invitation no longer opens, ask the sender for the completed copies.

Download links normally last 60 minutes, but your agreement may use a different lifetime. The lifetime starts when the links are created. An expired link does not mean the signed agreement has been deleted.

In Contracts, close the download window and select Download signed documents again on the same completed request. As a signer, return to the completion screen and select Download completed documents again. Use the new links that appear.

Save the files themselves rather than bookmarking a download link. Anyone with a working download link can open its file, so share completed copies only with the intended recipients and keep the links out of public posts.

If a download is missing or fails

  • Download signed documents is missing: check that you are in the contract type's Requests list and that this request is Complete. A template marked Ready is ready to send; it is not a signed agreement.
  • No documents are ready yet: close the download window and check for an error on the request page. Wait briefly, then open the download action again. If it keeps failing, ask for help.
  • A signer sees Completed documents are not ready yet or an availability error: ask the sender to confirm that the whole request is complete, then retry from the completion screen.
  • A filename opens an error or says the link was not found: create fresh links using the steps above. If a new link also fails, report the error.
  • You cannot open Contracts or get an access error: ask your administrator to check your access. See Why can't I see or edit a feature?.
  • A PDF is incomplete, unreadable, or for the wrong request: check the request name and download it again. If the problem remains, keep the file and contact the sender or your administrator before using it.

You do not need to send another signing request just to retry a download.

When asking for help, include the request name, contract type, visible status, filename, and exact error. Share the document privately if support needs to inspect it; do not post the signing or download links publicly.
