Setting up your public booking page

Set your public booking name, handle, and timezone, prepare a meeting offering, and check its availability and shareable link before inviting customers.

Set up your booking profile so customers can choose a meeting type and find available times on your Cedros site. The profile supplies your public name, booking handle, and timezone; each booking type supplies its own meeting details and shareable link.

Open Calendar → My calendar, then choose Configure in the bookings area. Booking-page setup has four tabs: About you, Booking types, Availability, and Integrations. Use Back to My calendar to return to your schedule.

Before you start

Sign in to the Cedros site where you want to accept bookings, using the account that will host the meetings. The scheduling profile belongs to that signed-in user. You need permission to manage scheduling; an administrator can check your access if setup controls are unavailable. See Understanding roles and permissions.

Have these details ready:

  • The host name customers should recognize.
  • A short, stable booking handle to use in links.
  • The timezone in which you will maintain your working hours.
  • At least one meeting you want people to book, with its duration and meeting method.
  • The hours you want to offer and any time you need to block out.

Opening Configure for the first time can create your profile from the prefilled account name, handle, and device timezone. Review those defaults before sharing anything. A profile alone is not a complete booking page: you also need a saved booking type and usable availability.

Your public booking page is separate from the admin calendar. Creating an ordinary calendar planning item does not create a bookable meeting offering. See Using your personal and team calendars for the distinction.

Set your public name, handle, and timezone

  1. Open About you in booking-page setup.
  2. Set Display name to the name invitees should see on the booking page and confirmation emails.
  3. Review Booking handle. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, and choose a handle that another host on this site is not already using.
  4. Choose Timezone to match the local hours you intend to offer.
  5. Pause to allow the automatic save to complete and read any error shown. Before distributing links, leave and reopen About you to confirm the saved values.

There is no separate Save profile button. Profile edits save automatically after you stop typing. The handle field normalizes spaces and punctuation into a URL-friendly form, so check the result rather than assuming it matches what you pasted.

Your handle is part of every booking-type URL. For example, a host handle of jane and a booking-type slug of intro-call produce /calendar/jane/intro-call. The handle-only path is not the complete link to that meeting.

Choose the handle before adding links to your website or email signature. If you change it later, copy fresh links and update the places where you shared them; do not assume the old links redirect. Also recheck any external-calendar connection after changing profile details.

Your profile timezone defines how weekly availability is interpreted. Visitors can view offered times in their own timezone on the public page. That display choice does not change your working hours. If you change your profile timezone, review your weekly hours and public slots again.

Add the meeting people can book

  1. Open Booking types and choose New booking type.
  2. Enter a customer-facing Title and review the URL slug. The slug identifies this offering within your profile.
  3. Choose the Duration and Meeting type, then complete the meeting address, link, or location fields shown for that choice.
  4. Review the description, notice period, booking horizon, and any other policies you enable. Check payment requirements if this is a paid meeting.
  5. Select Create booking type and wait for the success result. Confirm that the offering appears in Booking types with its Link.

Booking types use an explicit create/save action even though About you saves automatically. When editing a type later, use Save booking type.

New types can default to Google Meet — automatic link. This choice requires the host to connect Google Calendar and enable sync before accepting Google Meet bookings. Choose the method you actually intend to provide: Phone call, In person, or Custom link or location are separate choices. In-person meetings require an address.

A saved link does not prove that the offering is ready to accept bookings. Availability, notice rules, limits, payment setup, and connection requirements can still prevent a customer from booking. Review the public page before sharing it widely.

Review weekly hours and time off

Open Availability and check Weekly hours in your profile timezone. Turn on only the days you want to offer, and check every start and end time. Initial defaults can include weekday working hours; do not treat them as a decision you already made.

Weekly-hour changes save automatically when there is a booking type to store them. Without a booking type, the page explains that you need to create one before those hours can be saved.

The shared Weekly hours panel saves to the primary booking type. Do not assume changing it updates every existing offering. When you have several types, check each public link to confirm the times it offers.

Use the time-off controls for holidays or other unavailable periods. Check whether a block applies to all booking types or a particular offering. A name and a copied link are not enough if the underlying hours are empty, blocked, or outside the booking horizon.

After an hours or timezone change, revisit the public page and inspect more than one date. For a meeting longer than the available window, or one constrained by notice and buffer rules, some otherwise open periods may contain no valid start times.

Check the integrations your offering needs

Open Integrations if you want Google Calendar events to block availability or Cedros bookings to sync to Google Calendar. The connection and sync state are separate: a connected account with sync paused does not provide the same behavior as active sync.

For a Google Meet — automatic link booking type, complete the Google connection and enable sync before you begin taking bookings. Read the connection status and resolve any credential or authorization issue shown. The fact that you can save the booking type is not proof that meeting-link creation is ready.

If Google connection controls say credentials are missing, the site's provider setup needs attention first. Ask the administrator responsible for that setup. Do not assume creating your scheduling profile configures the provider credentials.

Confirmation emails also depend on working outgoing email delivery. Check Setting up outgoing email delivery if messages from the site are not arriving. A booking page loading successfully does not verify email delivery or calendar synchronization.

  1. Open Booking types and find the exact offering you want to share.
  2. Check its Link, then use the row's Copy booking link action.
  3. Paste the result somewhere you can inspect it. Confirm that it uses the intended public site address, your saved handle, and the correct booking-type slug.
  4. Open that copied link before adding it to a website button, email signature, or customer message.

Where the Your booking page card appears, Copy link and Preview use the primary booking type. For a different offering, use that offering's row in Booking types so you do not accidentally distribute the wrong meeting link.

Share the public /calendar/... link, not an /admin/... setup address. Do not use an existing booking's confirmation or management link as the link for new invitees; it refers to a particular booking.

The public page is generated from the saved profile and booking type. You do not need to create a separate ordinary website page for that URL. Adding a menu link or button is a separate presentation choice.

Check the page as an invitee

  1. Open the copied link in a private browser window so you see the public experience.
  2. Confirm the host name, offering title, description, duration, and meeting information shown.
  3. Check the public timezone selector. Compare the offered times with your intended working hours, allowing for the visitor's timezone.
  4. Browse dates and inspect the available time buttons. Confirm that expected days are offered and known unavailable periods are excluded.
  5. Stop before selecting a time if you only want to inspect the page. Return to setup to correct anything unexpected, then repeat the check.

Selecting a time creates a temporary reservation and opens the booking-details form. It is more than a read-only preview. Submitting the form can create a real booking, send messages, or start checkout for a paid offering.

A visual check verifies identity, link routing, and the availability shown. It does not prove that confirmation email, payment, Google Meet creation, or calendar sync will complete. Treat a full test booking as a separate deliberate test with the host and invitee prepared for those effects.

You are ready to share when the saved identity is correct, the intended offering has a valid public link, its meeting method is configured, and the page shows the availability you expect without an unresolved error.

New booking type is disabled. Wait for initial profile setup to finish and read any error. Check About you and your scheduling permissions. A failed profile setup must be resolved before other settings can use it.

Profile changes do not persist. Read the save error, check the handle and timezone, and try the corrected value. Handles must be unique on the site. Reopen About you to verify the saved result before sharing a link.

The public page says Booking not found. Copy the link again from the intended booking-type row. Confirm both handle and type slug, the correct site address, and that the type still exists and is available. A profile handle alone is not a complete meeting link.

The page opens but there are no times. Check weekly hours, the host and visitor timezones, time-off blocks, meeting duration, notice and booking-horizon rules, and busy-calendar restrictions. Also check the offering's expiry or booking limits. Read load errors rather than treating a failed availability request as an empty schedule.

Google Meet bookings cannot be accepted. Check that Google Calendar is connected and sync is enabled. Resolve the displayed provider error before relying on automatic meeting links.

The wrong offering opens. The overview card can point to the primary booking type. Copy the link from the exact offering's row instead.

A link changed after editing the handle or type slug. Update published buttons, signatures, and other shared locations with the newly copied URL, then check them in a private browser window.
