Create products in Monetization → Catalog → Products. Add the details customers need, set the price and delivery type, then check the item on your storefront before selling it.
This guide starts with a one-time purchase. For payment setup, see Getting started with payments in Cedros.
Start a product and add its details
- Open Monetization → Catalog → Products and choose Add product.
- Under Details, enter a clear Name and a short Description explaining what the customer receives.
- Turn off Available for sale while you prepare the item. New products start with this option on.
- Choose an image, or paste its address into Image URL.
You need Cedros Pay installed and active, plus permission to manage the catalog. If Catalog or Add product is missing, ask your site administrator to check your access.
Choose image opens the media library. Select an existing image; use Replace to change it or Remove to clear it from the product. A square image around 1000 × 1000 pixels works well with this form. Check that the image is accessible to visitors, not only administrators. See Uploading and organizing media if you need to add an image to the library first.
The new product is not saved until you choose Create product at the end of the form.
Set the price
Under Pricing → Price, enter the amount customers should pay. This form shows prices in USD: enter 25.00 for a USD 25 product, rather than 2500.
Original price is optional. It provides a crossed-out comparison price for a discount display; Price remains the selling price. Check both amounts on the public product page before offering a discount.
Start with a positive price for a paid product. Review the final checkout total separately, including any shipping, taxes, or discounts you have configured. Creating a product price does not configure those rules or connect a payment provider.
Choose delivery and sales type
Under How you sell it, choose the appropriate Delivery option:
- Digital for a digital item or access delivered online.
- Physical for an item you ship.
- Service for something you deliver as a service rather than shipping a parcel.
For this first product, leave Sales type set to One-time purchase. Subscription and Pay per access need their additional setup after product creation. A product type alone does not establish a recurring plan or a paid-content access rule.
Physical delivery appears when shipping is enabled. If you need it and the option is missing, review Pay hub → Overview → Commerce workflows with your administrator.
Choosing Digital does not upload or attach a downloadable file. Arrange the promised download or access through your site's delivery setup. Likewise, choosing Service does not create booking availability; for paid appointments, follow Creating a booking type.
For a web-only digital product, leave mobile in-app purchasing off. Selling through Apple or Google requires separate app-store product setup and testing.
Add shipping and stock for physical goods
When you choose Physical, the form shows Shipping, or Shipping and inventory if inventory is enabled.
In Ships to, find each destination country and choose Add, or press Enter. Confirm each one appears in the selected-country list. A physical product needs at least one shipping country, and checkout collects a shipping address.
If you need stock tracking, ask your administrator to set the product's stock through the site's inventory-management tools. The Track inventory and Quantity in stock fields appear in the product form, but saving this form does not apply stock changes. Confirm the saved quantity before offering a limited-stock item. Catalog → Inventory shows adjustment history; it is not a stock-entry form.
These settings describe the product's delivery destinations and stock. Also configure and test the shipping charges and fulfillment process your store uses.
Choose customer information and optional details
Under Customer information, choose whether to collect an Email address, Full name, and Phone number. Each has Don’t ask, Optional, and Required choices. Email starts as required, name as optional, and phone as not requested.
Collect the information you need to fulfill the purchase and help the customer. Requiring an email address does not itself configure receipt delivery; check the order notifications you plan to send.
Under Advanced, review these fields when needed:
- Product ID is generated from the name. You can change it before creation; it is fixed in the edit form afterward.
- Storefront URL slug is the product's address-friendly name. It is separate from Product ID. Review the generated value and use lowercase letters, numbers, and single dashes.
- Tags and Categories help organize products. Categories expects your site's category IDs.
- SEO title and SEO description let you provide search-facing text.
- Fulfillment note adds a short delivery message for the customer after purchase.
- Collect a billing address lets you request one where your checkout needs it.
A fulfillment note describes delivery; it does not deliver a file or schedule a service. Keep the message consistent with the experience you have actually set up.
Create and review the saved product
- Review the name, description, image, price, delivery, customer information, and Available for sale setting.
- Choose Create product and wait for the result.
- If an error appears, correct the named field and submit again. Do not leave the page assuming the product was saved.
- When the Products list returns, find the item and open Edit to confirm its saved details.
If you cannot find it, clear the Search, Status, and Type filters. An inactive product may be hidden by an active-only filter.
Changes in Edit product autosave. Wait for the save status to settle and resolve any error before leaving. Reopen the item to confirm important changes such as its price or sale status.
Review the storefront slug after renaming a product. If a published product's slug changes, arrange a redirect from the previous address so existing links continue to work.
If you accept Stripe, review the product's Stripe status and any sync error. Where your setup needs catalog synchronization, use the product's Sync Stripe action and check the result. Follow Connecting Stripe to verify the matching account and environment.
Check the storefront and a test purchase
Your site needs a storefront or customer page that displays the product and opens checkout. A saved catalog entry alone does not establish that customers can find it or receive what they buy.
Use a separate test site while preparing the purchase flow. When the product is ready for a buyer test, turn on Available for sale and wait for it to save.
- Open the actual public product page. Check the name, image, description, price, and any comparison price on desktop and mobile.
- Start checkout and confirm the item, final total, payment choices, and requested customer information.
- Complete a supported test purchase using the payment method's test setup.
- In Monetization → Transactions, match the payment and order to the purchase.
- Return as the buyer and verify the promised download, access, shipment process, or service follow-up.
Also test cancellation or a supported failed payment. It should not be treated as a completed purchase. If you track inventory, check the resulting stock behavior too.
For missing payment choices, review Controlling payment methods by country as well as the method's setup. When the product and checkout are ready, enable the intended production item and check its public page again.
Troubleshoot a product that is not ready to sell
- Creation is blocked: check the name, description, price, Product ID, and storefront slug. Physical products also need a shipping country.
- An ID or slug is already used: choose a unique value, then try creating the product again.
- The image is missing: check its URL or media-library selection and visitor access.
- The product is absent from the store: confirm its saved sale status and the storefront's product selection or filters.
- Checkout is unavailable: check the price, stock, payment setup, checkout activation, and applicable country rules.
- Payment succeeds but delivery does not: inspect the existing order and the item's delivery or access setup before asking the customer to pay again.
For help, provide the product name or ID, public page URL, time, and visible error. See Getting help and reporting a problem.
