Finding your way around Cedros

Find tools, use admin search, understand personal and shared work, and open guided help.

Use this guide to find the right screen in your site's admin, move between tools, and tell personal work from shared business information.

Start with your site's admin already open. If you do not have a site yet, follow Creating your first Cedros site. Instructions such as Site → Pages refer to the sidebar in your site's admin, not the navigation on cedros.ai.

Find the right tool

The sidebar groups tools by the work you want to do. Select a group heading to expand or collapse its links. If you see only icons, use Expand admin navigation near the top of the sidebar to restore the labels.

Use these common destinations as a starting point:

What you want to doWhere to go
Edit a website page or upload an imageSite → Pages or Site → Media
Write a blog post, help article, or FAQSite → Blogs, Docs, or FAQs
Change the links visitors use to navigate your websiteSite → Menus
Change your site's colors, layout, or presentationSettings → Appearance
Update site-wide business settingsSettings → Site
Find a customer or manage teammatesUsers → People or Users → Team; see People stages and finding contacts
Read email or prepare an email campaignEmail → Inbox, Lists, or Campaigns
Review the publishing schedule or plan your workGrow → Calendar or Grow → Focus
Manage products and payments, where availableMonetization → Catalog or Transactions

Your sidebar depends on your permissions and the features and extensions enabled for your site. An optional tool may be absent, and your links may be arranged differently.

Two distinctions prevent common wrong turns: the Site group contains website content, while Settings → Site contains site-wide configuration. Site → Menus changes the navigation your visitors see; it does not organize the admin sidebar.

The command palette lets you find admin destinations without opening each sidebar group.

  1. Select Search near the top of the sidebar, or press ⌘K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows.
  2. In Search admin, type a tool or setting name. Try Appearance.
  3. Read the result's category and description. Choose Appearance under Settings for the main appearance page; results such as Navigation appearance take you to a more specific area.
  4. Click the result, or use the up and down arrow keys and press Enter.
  5. Check the page heading to confirm you reached the intended screen.

Press Esc to close the palette without choosing a result.

For a particular page, person, or message, open the relevant tool and use its own search and filters. For example, go to Site → Pages to find a page you want to edit, or Email → Inbox to find a message. The list's current filters affect what you can see: check the selected status, folder, date range, or other filters before concluding that an item is missing.

Use Dashboard to see what needs attention

Choose Dashboard at the top of the sidebar to return to the site's overview. What appears depends on your access, dashboard settings, and installed extensions.

  • Globe and Numbers show site activity in different views. Check the reporting window before comparing figures.
  • Inbox brings together incoming form submissions and Completed work. To read email, use Email → Inbox.
  • Insights shows performance information and offers View full analytics for more detail.
  • Briefing, when shown, opens the assistant briefing.
  • More contains quick actions, such as New page, plus Site tour and Customize dashboard.
  • View site offers ways to open the website from the admin.

Use the dashboard to spot something worth opening, then go to the relevant tool for the full list or editor. The public website and the admin are separate views; opening the website does not mean all of your drafts have been published.

Check whether work is personal or shared

A screen organized around you can still include shared business records. Check the view, item owner, and source before changing something that affects your team.

Team calendar and My calendar

  1. Open Grow → Calendar.
  2. Select the calendar title at the top of the page.
  3. Choose Team calendar or My calendar.

Team calendar brings together shared publishing, campaigns, events, and deadlines. My calendar brings together personal calendar items and work assigned to you. You can also reach My calendar from your profile menu.

An assigned team item appearing in My calendar is still shared work. Some entries come from another tool, such as a publishing schedule or synced booking, and open their source when selected. Use that source to make changes when the calendar does not offer editing.

Personal planning in Focus

Open Grow → Focus for goals and personal planning. On Goals, the business vision and growth goals provide shared direction. Active Work contains your own Today, This Week, and This Month tasks. Relationships, Reflect, and To-dos provide other personal planning views.

Do not treat every control on Focus as a personal preference. Changing a shared business goal is different from adding a task to your own day; check the section you are editing.

Find walkthroughs and help

Open your profile menu in the sidebar and choose Help. The Help page includes Search help resources…, guided walkthroughs, and the Site tour. Choose a walkthrough for the task you want to learn, such as publishing a page or inviting a teammate. An unfinished site tour can offer Resume.

You can also start the tour from Dashboard → More → Site tour. Help includes Ask your assistant and Check site health when you need another way to investigate a problem.

Users → Support is the tool for managing support conversations with your site's visitors. For help with Cedros itself, use these customer docs or contact Cedros.

When something is missing or looks different

Expand the sidebar and the relevant group, then try the command palette with the tool's name. If the tool is still absent, check that you are in the intended site's admin and signed in with the expected account.

Ask the site owner or administrator to check your permissions and whether the feature or extension is enabled. Reinstalling an extension is not a first step for a missing navigation link.

A page opens, but you cannot edit it

Read any access or setup notice on the page. Viewing a tool and changing its records can require different permissions; an item may also be managed in another tool. Follow an offered link to the source, or ask the site administrator for the access needed for your task.

Search does not find what you expected

For navigation, try a short tool name such as Pages, Inbox, or Appearance, and read the result descriptions. For a record, use the search inside its own tool and clear restrictive filters. If it is a calendar item, also check Team calendar versus My calendar and the displayed date.

You need someone else to investigate

Include the site's address, the screen you were trying to reach, the action you took, and the exact message shown. If you send a screenshot, remove private customer information and credentials first.

For missing or disabled controls, see Why can’t I see or edit a feature?. When you are ready to build, follow Getting started for a first-page walkthrough.
