Creating an account and signing in

Create an account, verify your email, sign in with an available method, and resolve common account and admin-access problems.

Use this guide to create an account or sign back in to a Cedros-powered site. It covers the email and password flow, email verification, other sign-in methods you may see, and the difference between being signed in and having permission to manage a website.

If you are buying and setting up a new Cedros site, start with Creating your first Cedros site. That guide covers plan selection, payment, and opening your new site's admin. You do not need to buy another plan simply to sign back in to an existing account.

Start on the right site

Use the address of the site you want to access. For your account on cedros.ai, open Sign in. For a business's customer account or a site you manage, use that site's sign-in link or the access link its owner gave you.

An account on one Cedros-powered site does not automatically give you access to every other site. If your usual details are rejected, check the website address before creating another account or changing a password.

Choose the path that matches your task:

  • Returning to an existing account: choose Sign in and use the same method you used before.
  • Creating a customer or member account: choose Sign up on the business's site, if registration is available.
  • Joining a team: start from the invitation you received. It carries the details needed to join the right organization.
  • Managing a website: use its admin access link. A customer account alone does not grant permission to edit the site.

The sign-in methods and registration options depend on the site. Follow the options actually shown; a missing Google, Apple, passkey, or email-link option does not mean you should create a replacement account.

Sign in with email and password

Before you begin, have your account email address and password available. If you set up two-factor authentication, also have your authenticator app or a saved recovery code.

  1. Open the site's sign-in page and select Sign in if Sign up is selected.
  2. Enter the email address you registered with in Email.
  3. Enter your account password in Password. Check that your password manager has selected the entry for this site and account.
  4. Choose Sign in.
  5. Complete any additional verification shown, then continue to the page you wanted to use.

For an authenticator prompt, enter the current six-digit code from the authenticator entry you set up for this account. If you cannot use the app, Use a recovery code lets you enter a recovery code you saved during setup. Keep these codes private.

If the site asks you to verify your email, follow Verify your email address below. Repeatedly entering the same password will not complete email verification.

Check the result: the site should show your signed-in account, profile, or the page you were trying to reach. Confirm the displayed account belongs to you. If the account is correct but a particular page is still unavailable, check customer and admin access before trying to register again.

Create an account with email

Use an email address you can receive messages at. If you are accepting a team invitation, use the address the invitation was sent to.

On cedros.ai, choosing Sign up can show Choose your plan before the account form. Follow Creating your first Cedros site for that setup flow. On another Cedros-powered site, registration follows that site's available options.

When the email registration form is available:

  1. Select Sign up.
  2. Enter your name in Name (optional) if you want to provide it.
  3. Enter your email address carefully. Check spelling before continuing, because verification messages go to that address.
  4. Enter a new password in Password, following the requirements shown, then enter it again in Confirm Password. Use a unique password and save it in your password manager.
  5. Complete any required fields or access code, and read any terms presented by the site. Accept required terms only if you agree to them.
  6. Choose Create account, then follow the resulting verification or completion screen.

If Create account stays disabled, check for empty required fields, a password that does not meet the displayed requirements, mismatched passwords, or a required checkbox or access code.

Some sites restrict registration or show a signup availability limit. If the page says registration is full or requires a code you do not have, contact the site owner. An access code for registration is separate from an authenticator code or password.

Check the result: a Check your email screen means there is still a verification step to complete. It is not a reason to start registration again. Account creation also does not, by itself, complete a site purchase, grant a paid membership, or make you an administrator.

Verify your email address

Email verification confirms that you can receive messages at the address on your account. It is separate from a password reset and from the code generated by an authenticator app.

  1. Open the inbox for the address shown on the verification screen.
  2. Find the verification message for the site where you registered. Check spam or junk if it is not in your inbox.
  3. Open the verification link and follow the result shown on the page.
  4. Return to the site and sign in if prompted. If you were setting up a new Cedros site, continue that setup flow.

If no message arrives, check the address shown on the screen, then use Resend verification email if available. Allow the request to finish before trying again. For a work address, your organization's email filtering or quarantine may also need checking.

If a link is rejected or has expired, return to the verification screen and request a fresh message. Use the newest message you requested. If you entered the wrong address or cannot access that mailbox, contact the site owner or support rather than repeatedly submitting the same request.

Check the result: look for the verification confirmation and whether you can continue or sign in. Receiving the email alone does not complete verification; you need to follow its link.

Use another available sign-in method

These options appear only on sites that enable them. Start with the method already connected to your account. Choosing a different method or a different provider account can leave you in a different account with none of the access you expected.

Google or Apple. Choose the provider button shown on the site, then select the same Google or Apple account you used previously. Complete the provider's prompts and return to the original site. If the provider chooses the wrong account automatically, use its account selector to choose the intended one.

Passkey. Choose Continue with passkey if offered. Use the device, password manager, or security key that holds your passkey for this site, and complete the browser or device prompt. A passkey can be a sign-in method; it is not simply another name for an authenticator code. If the prompt cannot find your passkey, try another method already connected to your account.

Email sign-in link. If the site offers a passwordless email link, enter your account email address and request the link. Open the message in that inbox and follow it back to the site. If the link is rejected, request a fresh one from the sign-in page. A sign-in link is different from an account verification message.

Wallet. If the site offers wallet sign-in, use the wallet already associated with your account and review the sign-in request before approving it. You should not need to give anyone your wallet's recovery phrase or private key.

Complete any additional account verification the site requests after these methods. Do not assume that a provider login removes a two-factor requirement.

Understand customer and admin access

Signing in identifies you. Your role, membership, or purchase determines what you can do afterward.

A customer account can provide access to that business's account features or member content. It does not automatically unlock the website editor, customer records, settings, or other admin tools.

To manage a site, use the admin link supplied by its owner or the admin entry point for your existing site. Some installations use a separate built-in owner login; others connect admin access to Cedros Login. Use the access method configured for that site.

If you received a team invitation, open its link and sign in with the invited account. The invitation flow accepts the invitation after authentication and shows the organization and role you joined. If it reports the wrong account, use Use another account and sign in with the intended one. If the invitation is invalid or no longer works, ask the sender to check it and send a new invitation if needed.

Check the result: after signing in or joining a team, open the intended site and tool. If access is denied or the tool is missing, ask the owner to confirm your account, organization, and role. Resetting a password does not change those permissions.

Fix common sign-in problems

Your email or password is rejected

Check the site address, email spelling, and the account selected by your password manager. Confirm you are on Sign in, not Sign up. If you normally use Google, Apple, a passkey, or another method, try that existing method.

If you have forgotten your password, choose Forgot your password? on the email sign-in form and follow the reset instructions. A password reset does not recover access to a separate Google or Apple account.

You are asked to create an account you already have

Check whether you opened Sign up, arrived at another site's login page, or selected a different provider account. Return to the correct site's Sign in flow. Avoid creating a second account as a workaround for missing access.

Confirm the address, check spam and work-email quarantine, and use the appropriate resend or new-link action. If the page reports too many attempts, wait for the indicated period before retrying. Repeated requests do not fix an incorrect address or blocked delivery.

Signing in works, but your site or content is missing

Check the displayed account and the website address first. Then ask the site owner to check your role, invitation, membership, or purchase as appropriate. Describe exactly which page or item is missing.

The sign-in page loops, stays busy, or reports an error

Record the error text and the time before leaving the page. Try the site's normal sign-in address in a fresh tab. If the problem continues, note your browser, device, sign-in method, and whether it occurs every time.

For help with your account on another business's site, contact that business or its site administrator. For a Cedros account or platform problem, use Getting help and reporting a problem. Include the site address and the step that failed. Never include passwords, sign-in links, verification tokens, authenticator codes, or recovery codes.

After you are signed in

Return to the task that brought you here and confirm you can access it with the expected account. Keep your saved sign-in details associated with the correct site so your password manager can select them next time.

If you are working in the admin for the first time, use Finding your way around Cedros. If you are continuing new-site setup, return to Creating your first Cedros site.
